I enjoy life and see a future again, I bridge 6 times a week and feel fitter than before!

Global outline of my condition
“It’s six months before my 75th birthday. I don’t feel well, have pain everywhere; in my arms, back, neck and legs. I can hardly walk. I move around indoors using a tricycle chair, and outdoors using a mobility scooter. I have cancelled all my bridge clubs where I cannot get to the bridge table with my mobility scooter. I no longer attend birthdays or family days. I sit at home a lot, or lie in bed. I take various painkillers to make the pain bearable and to be able to sleep. My feeling is that my 75th birthday is more or less everyone’s goodbye. I would also be at peace with it”. So much for a rough sketch of my fitness a few years ago.
Gift
My son Paul gave me a complete examination at BodySwitch as a gift. I wasn’t too happy about it at first. I had tried so many things to get rid of the pain and improve the quality of life, nothing had helped. I didn’t have much confidence in it. But you don’t look a given horse in the mouth.
Approach
After sending in stool and blood samples, I received a comprehensive report indicating deficiencies and abnormalities after a few weeks. Based on this report, Jerome, my therapist at BodySwitch, prescribed supplements for me to take every day. In addition, I was given a detailed description of diets, and foods which I should or should not take. I started with that, and was in regular contact with him via Skype, where progress was reviewed, and additional advice was given. By now most of the supplements have been phased out, and I can take stock after more than a year.
Result
I have lost 27 kg since the beginning of treatment. I am only using 1/3rd of the insulin from before. My cholesterol dropped significantly. Half of the medications were dropped in consultation with the physician. Walking is going a lot better. I can, with some difficulty, walk a few dozen meters again. As a result, I can and do feel like going to birthdays again, I no longer feel like my end is near. I enjoy life and still see future, I bridge again 6 times a week and feel fitter than before. Keeping me on the diet is not a problem. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables, lots of fish and chicken, walnuts and cashew nuts and eggs, and as little as possible: potatoes, pasta, bread and alcohol. My weight remains stable, and so does my mood.
